Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses using tax software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks and Sage
• Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports to ensure completeness and correctness
• Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations by explaining complex financial concepts clearly and professionally
• Conduct thorough analysis of client data to identify potential deductions, credits, and savings opportunities
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance
• Support clients with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry using accounting software and 10 key typing skills
• Collaborate with team members on marketing initiatives to attract new clients and expand service offerings

Experience

• Prior experience in public accounting or a related financial field is highly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, corporate accounting, and technical accounting principles
• Proven ability to perform detailed analysis using math skills and attention to detail
• Experience working with tax software and performing bookkeeping or bookkeeping-related tasks
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
• Familiarity with sales techniques or financial sales strategies is a plus
