About the Role


Would you like to make a difference by supporting women who are in the Mothers and Babies Unit at Christchurch Women’s prison?

Grounded in Mātauranga Maori this role supports parenting and life skills education for mothers who have their baby (0-24 months) with them in Christchurch Women’s Prison. It involves direct support for māmā and pēpi, including with hāpu māmā throughout the prisons and aims to facilitate and support re-integration into community.


A full-time position, it is expected that for 25 – 30 hours per week the facilitator will be based at the prison. The remainder of the week will be at the offices of Te Puawaitanga and/or in the wider community undertaking relevant tasks.
