Description:
Warrah Specialist School, located on a beautiful rural property in Dural, NSW, provides individualised education for students with moderate to severe disabilities from Kindergarten to Year 12. • Incorporate outdoor and practical learning including woodwork, weaving, music, drama, cooking, gardening, and farming.
  • Provide personal care support to students when needed, in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies and trauma-informed practices.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the broader Warrah community.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the school’s warm, supportive learning environment.
Skills and Experiences:
Essential Criteria

  • Experience supporting students with intellectual disabilities and special needs, preferably in primary settings.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs, interests, and learning styles.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the rights of people with disabilities.
  • Empathy, professionalism, and openness to creative and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Proficiency in IT and digital teaching tools.
Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of or willingness to engage with Rudolf Steiner’s Curative Education principles.
  • Familiarity with NSW Board of Studies and Steiner Education curricula.
  • Experience or interest in gardening/horticulture and outdoor education.
Why Work With Us?

  • Join a supportive and passionate team in a beautiful rural setting.
  • Work within a unique Steiner-based special education environment.
  • Generous not-for-profit salary packaging, including up to $15,900 + $2,650 meal & entertainment card.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for well-being and confidential support.
