Description:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Cultural Activities, the Instructor is responsible for planning and leading a K Pop dance workshop for children between the ages of 10 and 16 in a leisure atmosphere.
Departmental mission:
The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services.
General responsibilities and goals:
- Prepare and teach dance choreographies adapted to each age group;
- Create a fun and stimulating environment;
- Ensure the well-being and safety of children
Job requirements:
- Certification or training from a dance school or in teaching dance;
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience in teaching children;
- Leadership skills and an affinity for working with children;
- Dynamic, upbeat personality and attentive to children’s needs;
- Good communication and listening skills;
- Independent and responsible nature;
- Ability to motivate;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Up-to-date first-aid certification (an asset).
Schedule:
Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. From January 23 to April 24. 30-minutes of preparation time is given per session.
Salary
$44,10/hour (non-unionized)
