The Community After Schools Project is recruiting a Team Leader to lead one of our After Schools Projects. This contracts is for 30hr per week Monday to Friday in the afternoons and some mornings. These posts offer a competitive salary subject to level of qualification, a supportive working environment and opportunities to engage in further training and CPD.

  • The positions are subject to Garda Vetting and two references
  • Minimum qualification of level 7 in Early Years Education.
  • Minimum of one year experience in an early year’s setting is essential.
  • Experience of leadership will be an advantage
  • To provide supervision to team members
  • To attend meetings with the leadership team
  • To monitor and improve quality of the service
  • A sound working knowledge of Síolta & Aistear
  • Understand the Pobal funding system and requirements
  • An inclusive approach to practice
  • An understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework and of all aspects of operating a quality early years environment
  • A knowledge and understanding of child protection and the duties and responsibilities underlined in Children First and up to date certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work in collaboration with other Educators
  • Be naturally warm and respectful towards children & their needs and interests
  • Be passionate regarding the delivery of a quality Early Years’ experience for all children
  • Be able to successfully follow a play based/emergent curriculum.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of various pedagogical approaches
  • Be passionate regarding outdoor play and the implementation of a nature pedagogy
  • A firm belief in inclusion and adapting individual practice to ensure the best individual outcomes for all children
  • Promote each child’s development and learning;
  • Work with the local community
  • Work as part of a team;
  • Keep children safe;
  • Support children’s transition into and from ECEC settings;
  • Be aware of the impact their practice has on children for whom they have responsibility;
  • Recognise the different cultural and social backgrounds of children;
  • Work with all families including those who may have different values and attitudes; and treat all children and families with respect.
  • This post has a 6 month’s probationary period
  • 7 days paid sick leave after probation
