About The Position

Position Location: Coober Pedy

Position Status: Full Time

The Coober Pedy Homelessness and Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence Service provides support to people who are at risk of or are experiencing homelessness, domestic or family violence

As the Team Leader, you will support the Homelessness & Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence Service to team to ensure they assess and respond to the individual needs of women and children in a manner which is inclusive and respectful and provide support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

This position is a prescribed Alliance position and will work within the frameworks and philosophies of The Country North Homelessness Alliance Charter and the South Australian Domestic and Family Violence Charter.

Skills and Experiences:
You will:
  • Have case management and group work experience.
  • Have experience in program budgeting and resource planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Be innovative and progressive.
  • Have an ability to think and act in a strategic manner.
  • Have a high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
It is essential for you to have:
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Relevant experience leading a team.
A Diploma (or above) in a Human Services or Management related discipline is highly desirable, but is not essential.

You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.

Our process will require you to upload a Cover Letter and Resume as separate documents, and also to respond to the following online questions:

  • What previous experience do you have in a Team Leader or leadership role, including the positions you've held? Alternatively, please describe your understanding of what it means to be a Team Leader.
  • Can you describe your understanding of homelessness and domestic and aboriginal family violence, particularly the impacts these issues have on victims and children?
  • How do you, as a Team Leader within Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence and Homelessness services, build trust and strong rapport among your team members, particularly when supporting staff who regularly work in high pressure and emotionally challenging situations?
  • As a Team Leader in the areas of Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence and Homelessness, you will be responsible for providing supervision and conducting case reviews to ensure best practice and the highest quality of care for both clients and team members. Could you please outline your experience overseeing case management, facilitating reflective practice, and supporting staff working with individuals and families affected by domestic and aboriginal family violence and homelessness?
  • Do you have experience working in remote communities such as Coober Pedy? Please describe how you have adapted your leadership and service provision within the unique challenges and opportunities that remoteness presents.
