Team Leader - Portfolio Management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement a framework (incl. relevant policies and procedures) for the Portfolio Management function of the Company, in line with the applicable laws and regulations (incl. ESG). Monitor regulatory changes, assess impact on the PM function and implement changes accordingly.
- Participate in creating lean and efficient processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Oversee and ongoingly monitor the delegated investment managers and appointed investment advisors.
- Manage and oversee client investment portfolios to ensure alignment with investment strategies and objectives.
- Organize Investment Committees, including the preparation of agendas, taking minutes as needed, and following up on action points.
- Supervise the execution of approved investment/divestment decisions when trade execution is delegated.
- Assess compliance of proposed investments with the Fund's strategic fit, risk profile, and financial criteria.
- Perform regulatory reporting for e.g. major holdings, ensuring adherence to Best Execution requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Be a key part of the Executive Committee (ExCo) and report to the ExCo and to the Board of Directors of the Company, as well as to the board of directors of the funds (when neede).
- Provide oversight of delegated investment managers across all types of funds, ensuring effective management of strategies and compliance.
- Conduct reviews of investment advisors, identifying and monitoring investment strategies and performance.
- Maintain a clear understanding of portfolio composition, asset allocation, and any subsequent changes.
- Monitor the list of approved instruments, identifying any new instrument types, and perform initial and annual reviews of the delegated investment managers’ risk-based approaches.
- Schedule, conduct and document regular calls with delegated investment managers and follow up on operational incidents.
- Manage the PM team and oversee related outsourced functions (e.g. EMIR), ensuring appropriate KPIs.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage audits and inspections.
- Coordinate onboarding of new funds liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Review fund documentation, and be key member in the new business approval process and main committees in the Company.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the financial sector (preferably ManCo/AIFM), with a strong focus on portfolio management and oversight.
- Strong knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory frameworks applicable to ManCos/AIFMs.
- Strong understanding of multiple asset classes and investment strategies.
- Highly organized, great attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Strong sense of ownership, agency and accountability, managing work independently, while escalating issues appropriately.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, proficient in delivering compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners, incl. building and maintaining strong relationships with the clients, investment managers and other external stakeholders.
- Team-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach, demonstrating initiative and creativity in addressing challenges.
- Ability to handle complex matters in a dynamic environment.
- Strong desire to drive positive change, incl. a strong vision to drive digital transformation for the function.
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Certifications in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) are advantageous.
- Experience working with investment management software and tools is preferred.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or German is a plus.
