Location: Explorium National Science & Sports Centre, Sandyford | Schedule: 5-day roster (Monday–Sunday, regular weekends required)

About the Role

As Team Lead, you’ll be the vital link between the Junior team and the Head of Junior. You’ll oversee daily operations in our section for children aged 2-7 years, lead engaging activities, and ensure every child and visitor enjoys a safe, fun, and educational experience.

What You’ll Do

• Open and close the Junior floor following safety and operational checklists
• Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and visitor-ready; report any issues promptly
• Manage daily staff rosters, breaks, and cover for absences
• Lead team briefings and communicate clear instructions and updates
• Deliver interactive science experiments, storytelling, and themed activities
• Supervise the floor, ensuring staff are in place and exhibits are functioning
• Act as the first point of contact for visitor queries and minor concerns
• Report incidents, grievances, or team issues to the Head of Junior
• Support and train new team members on all Junior Section activities
• Take the lead on camps, parties, and special events

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a leadership role within a child-focused environment
• Outgoing, confident, and comfortable with public speaking or performance
• Strong understanding of health & safety, risk, and hazard awareness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
• Passion for interactive learning and delivering exceptional visitor experiences
• Flexible, reliable, and a true team player

Bonus Points For

• First Aid and Fire Marshall certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with storytelling, themed events, or science demonstrations
• Fluency in English (verbal and written)
