Technical Analyst Ehr (Ft) |Laboratory Services | Ames | 2026-061

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for a Technical Analyst, EHR -Lab/Pathology Systems for its Ames location. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsible for configuration and support of Beaker, EPIC's anatomic pathology and clinical laboratory LIS. The analyst will configure, test and deploy given functionality and work on various projects as assigned. The individual will need to demonstrate an ability to learn various aspects of software and other technologies quickly. Responsible for assisting technical analysts and laboratory supervisors with ongoing activities related to laboratory services at McFarland Clinic and Mary Greeley Medical Center. Responsible for developing and providing training to other MIS staff and workforce as required. Must possess a superior ability to manage projects within a team structure and communicate with staff, providers and peers to confirm satisfactory completion of projects. This position requires the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot with various technologies, working towards a satisfactory resolution for end-users.

Education

• BS/BA in Computer Science/MIS/IT/Business or equivalent. -OR- Medical laboratory Science, Sciences with lab experience.

Certification/License

• Epic Beaker CP & AP certification within 4-6 months of employment. Training provided and coordinated through employer.

Days: Monday - Friday. Occasional weekends, evenings, holidays, and on call required.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Experience

• Experience working in a clinical or anatomic pathology lab.
• Experience working with Epic Systems or other laboratory information systems
• 1+ year supporting laboratory systems in a multispecialty and/or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7) interfaces.
