Description:
Purpose

Manage and supervise staff to support the Manager Infrastructure Services with effective technical support in regards to planning, scoping, costing, and overseeing Council construction projects and maintenance activities to ensure targets are achieved.

Skills and Experiences:
Compulsory Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment screening and achieve a satisfactory outcome.
  • Be available for on-call rostered overtime and/or call back emergencies outside normal working hours. This position will be required to be included in the on-call roster.
Essential Requirements

Class C Drivers Licence.
Construction Induction (white card).
Experience/knowledge of current GPS technology with the ability to plan and execute GPS surveys.
Ability to read plans, conduct basic surveys and set out works and levels as required.
SafeWork NSW Certifications: Traffic Controller, Implement/Apply Traffic Control Plans, Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan.
Experience in completing works/projects within budget and ability to prepare estimates.
Preparation of traffic management plans, site safety plans, site environmental plans and quality management plans.
Sound knowledge and practical experience in civil construction works including plant and equipment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills along with sound numeracy skills.
Highly developed time management and organisation skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Sound computer skills.
Advanced understanding of traffic control and public safety procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of Work Health Safety legislation and regulations specific to the work area.

Desirable Requirements

Diploma of Civil Construction, other relevant qualifications or extensive experience in similar role.
  • Diploma of Engineering.
