Role Profile

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Product Manager (Singapore or London) to join our Lloyd’s List Intelligence product team.


The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our leading trade compliance products by bridging the gap between technical teams and the product team. This individual will be responsible for collating and providing technical expertise to customer needs and requirements as set out by the product manager.

This role is balanced working model between home and in our modern and centrally located offices in either UK - London office or in Singapore, with excellent and a wide variety of services and transport links situated nearby.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the data engineering, data science and front-end software development teams to understand the product data architecture and update any existing documentation.
  • Maintain the product roadmap for trade compliance solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation on user requirements, product methodologies and release notes.
  • Define and refine detailed customer requirements from a technical perspective, ensuring alignment with existing data architecture for both data science, engineering, and software development teams.
  • Communicate with technical and UX/UI teams to understand any new feature implementation, solution feasibility and design and ensure the product manager understands these requirements.
  • Conduct and lead any grooming sessions with developers, engineers, or data scientists.
  • Identify any dependencies from across the different technical teams which may pose risks to the delivery of key roadmap items or product enhancements.
  • Ensure cross-platform compatibility and usability by collaborating with QA teams to conduct rigorous testing of requirements across various environments and devices.
  • Work with the data architecture manager to translate the customer requirements for a new API design or an improvement to an existing one.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to enhance product performance and user experience.

What we are looking for:

Essential

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Technical Product Manager or similar role in a B2B SaaS development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a track record of driving product innovation.
  • Experience with product management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Product Board.
  • Familiarity with data analysis (e.g. Excel, R, Python)
  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while also being able to work independently when necessary.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

Desirable

  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Prior experience working within the B2B information services and especially with a maritime trade compliance context.
  • Experience of working in a start-up or scale-up organisation
  • Previous experience working in a PE backed business
  • Proficiency in a coding language
