Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in program management.

Preferred qualifications:

7 years of experience in network operations and data communications.
5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
5 years of experience with network multilayered OSS, network design, and network security.
Experience with developing software in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment.
Experience with data communications protocols and data network design, open network protocols, models and strategies.
Familiarity with enterprise networking (e.g., L3 Routing, Switching (CISCO) SD WAN and Security).

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

Review, design, implement and operationally manage Global Submarine Networks (GSN's) Layer 2-3 IP Secure Data Communications Network (DCN) and Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Cloud based applications and systems.
Work closely with stakeholders, supporting GSN's Network Operations center (NOC) to develop systems operating processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot network and OSS systems performance.
Manage and track Quality of Service (QoS) issues and resolutions.
Work with technology suppliers, security, risk and compliance teams to ensure Google maintains the highest levels of reliability in respect of operating systems and networks.
