Our client is an established international company specialising in laboratory automation technology. The flagship line of robotic sample preparation workstations and accessories utilize proprietary industry leading technology to provide customers with the highest levels of accuracy and precision combined with elegantly simple software control.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • This is a new opportunity within the business following on from significant strategic growth and the Technical Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing application and technical support to key customers. This person may work on Sample Preparation workflow solutions for industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, diagnostics, food safety or materials science. Their specific duties may include:

  • Providing technical support to channel partners and customers, such as troubleshooting sample preparation issues as well as hardware and software operations.

  • Collaborating with the R&D group as well as Key Opinion Leader’s to develop workflows that meet specific project requirements.

  • Providing technical support to customers, such as troubleshooting sample preparation issues leading to chromatography issues.

  • Collaborating with R&D to develop workflows that meet specific project requirements or new business initiatives.

  • Training and mentoring sales and service engineers, channel partners, scientists and technicians in sample preparation and chromatography techniques.

  • Ensuring that workflows developed are well documented and in compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines as applicable.

  • Keeping abreast of new developments in sample preparation and chromatography techniques and making recommendations for process improvements.

  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as FDA and EU guidelines is desirable.

  • Installing, configuring, and commissioning new equipment.

  • Providing training to customers on the use and maintenance of equipment.

  • Developing and optimising sample preparation workflows for different types of samples, such as biological fluids/materials or environmental samples.

  • Designing and conducting experiments in cooperation with channel partners and their customer to evaluate the performance of sample preparation workflows on the products.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Strong background in analytical chemistry with hands-on experience using chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques including UPLC, HPLC, GC, SFC and MS as well as solid phase extraction sample preparation methods.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with customers, are essential.

  • Experience in method development and validation in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is desirable.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of robotics equipment and its accessories, able to provide onsite and remote troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of sample prep robotics equipment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines is essential.

  • Ability to keep up to date with the latest developments in chromatography and mass spectrometry technology and make recommendations for process improvements.

  • PhD or Master's degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is preferred.
