Technical Writer

Position Description:

  • We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Writer to join our Cybersecurity team.
  • You will play a critical role in ensuring that our cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems are well-understood and properly implemented.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation for a variety of audiences, including technical staff, non-technical stakeholders, and end-users.

Skills Required:

  • Experience with graphic design and multimedia development.
  • Knowledge of different cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the cybersecurity field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe RoboHelp, or Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with content management systems.

Experience Required:

  • Training materials Incident response plans Security awareness materials
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity team members to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain a wide range of cybersecurity documentation, including: Policies and procedures System documentation User manuals and guides
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and easy-to-understand language.
  • Adhere to style guides and templates to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Use a variety of authoring and content management tools.
  • Manage documentation review and approval processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on cybersecurity best practices and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles and FAQs.
  • Assist with other cybersecurity-related tasks as needed.

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.

Education Preferred:

Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+) are a plus.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $41.72 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

  • Technical writing: 3 years (Required)
  • cybersecurity documentation: 2 years (Required)
  • NIST OR ISO 27001: 2 years (Preferred)
  • graphic design and multimedia development: 2 years (Required)
  • Agile: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • CISSP OR Security+ (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
