The Government Mobile Communications Branch (GMCB) seeks a talented Telecommunications Services Coordinator to support and coordinate telecommunications services across the province, ensuring 24/7 service.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:- Analyze patterns and trends in recurring issues reported by users. Research and collaborate with various teams to develop recommendations to address these problems.
- Review a variety of radio site performance reports to ensure network stability. Identify and escalate any incidents related to instability or outages.
- Manage the operational disposal of bulk user equipment, network infrastructure, and civil infrastructure requests.
- Provide technical expertise to support the radio operations team in handling incidents, problems, and work orders.
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge:
You can demonstrate knowledge of:- telecommunications technology, including public safety radio networks, operations, and current/emerging technology.
- trunk radio technology as it applies to radio-to-radio transmission, and network infrastructure components, including, towers, shelters, and power systems.
- technical, analytical/troubleshooting, research and problem-solving skills to ensure vendor support in resolving radio network infrastructure and various specialty systems.
- performance measurement systems, tools and techniques, such as metrics, to interpret performance measurement reports.
- service level agreements to ensure requests are resolved and fulfilled within timelines.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices in incident, change, configuration, project, time, and problem management.
- standards, procedures, and tools for version control and release management.
Analytical and Research Skills:
You can:
- assess the condition, technical performance, and capacity of network and telecommunication systems.
- identify, determine and resolve technical problems and recommend solutions.
- develop backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, and co-ordinate work of team to install network/telecommunications hardware, software and upgrades.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
You can:- liaise with all levels of personnel including non-government contractors, to resolve issues and present technical information.
- write technical documentation for network and operating procedures/instructions, explain technical issues, and define user needs to vendors/designers.
- work collaboratively/cooperatively in a team environment and with other stakeholders, including staff from other branches, vendors and users.
- investigate and respond promptly to any reports of faults.
Organization Skills:
You can:
- manage multiple concurrent incidents and service requests.
- prioritize work and use sound judgement skills to determine when risks and issues should be escalated.
- work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with geographically distributed team members and stakeholders with limited supervision.
