What does a successful Senior Test Engineer do?

As a Senior Test Engineer at Fiserv in Auckland, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our fintech applications. Your expertise in testing and meticulous attention to detail will help us deliver top-notch solutions that align with the real-world needs of our clients. What you will do:

• Understand project strategy and requirements (both functional and non-functional).
• Define Test Plan using Mind map for work item under test traceable to business requirements.
• Conduct thorough testing of Fiserv Fintech applications, both manually and using automated tools.
• Identify, log, and track bugs and glitches in applications.
• Review and provide constructive feedback for Test Plans done by your peers (in addition to final Test Artifacts Review).
• Regularly assess and maintain automated test suites and CI/CD framework to ensure they are still fit for purpose, resilient to flakiness, and focus on higher-value delivery.
• Review feature code during pull requests, providing feedback on elements of testability.
• Report issues in JIRA for work item under test.
• Own and mitigate task-specific risks and concerns tracked as RIDA in Jira.

What you will need to have:

• Extensive Agile/Scrum experience using exploratory testing techniques and heuristics.
• Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog and defect management tools.
• Expertise in testing API, web, and native mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with analytics tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Expertise in building and maintaining native iOS/Android mobile and web automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Selenium)

What would be great to have:

• Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Expertise in C#, TypeScript, and .NET technologies.
• Proficiency in native iOS and Android programming languages.
• Proficiency in performance testing for cloud-based and on-prem platforms.
• Expert in the usage of Pact Contract Testing.
• Expert in CI/CD advanced practices within Azure Devops or a similar pipeline tool
• Experience in testing Financial applications.
• ISTQB or other relevant software testing certifications.
