Toddler Assistant Teacher – Full Time Position - 10 Hours per day - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday
Starting at $15.50 per hour (depending on experience), plus Bonus of $240 - $360 (depending on your MRTQ level)

Requirements: Staff must be at least 18 Years of age and must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional Requirements: CPR/First Aid Certification Ability to pass background check The Ability and willingness to comply with all applicable laws and rules The Ability to provide safe and compassionate services Patient and attentive Be prepared to meet the physical demands of the position and have an understanding of the childhood development process Maintain a minimum of 30 Child Care Developmental Training Hours per year Registration with Maine Roads to Quality (MRTQ) Be a Team player with exceptional communication, teaching and interpersonal skills Be reliable, honest and flexible Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children A valid ID
Duties: Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks and monitor children while they eat Help children keep good hygiene Change diapers Assist with potty training Organize activities and implement a curriculum ensuring that children have physical activity, rest and play time Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and do observations which keeps record of children’s progress, routines and interests Keeping records relating to child care Working with parents to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals Provide the children with age-appropriate instruction and ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, sharing, etc. Helping children discover new interests by introducing them to Art, Music, Sports, and other potential hobbies Ensuring children are learning positive behaviors and providing guidance or approved discipline, as needed Preparing children to enter the next level of care or entry into school Attend Staff Meetings Develop a cleaning routine throughout the day, that keeps all of the interactive areas and toys sanitary, clean and safe Monitor children during indoor/outdoor activities and interact with the children to enhance their learning Work with teachers to maintain communication with parents and contact parents in emergency situations
