Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for toddlers.
  • Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
  • Engage children in hands-on activities that promote learning through play, art, music, and storytelling.
  • Monitor and support individual developmental milestones, providing personalized attention as needed.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians about each child's progress, behavior, and needs.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently, including first aid procedures and emergency responses.
  • Manage classroom routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and hygiene practices with patience and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan activities that support inclusive education, including working with children with disabilities or special needs.
  • Uphold licensing standards and health regulations to ensure a clean, safe environment at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, behavior management, early childhood education best practices, and caregiving techniques.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare settings, preschool environments, or as a nanny or babysitter is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early education strategies for toddlers.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are a plus.
  • Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster positive behavior through effective behavior management techniques.
  • Experience with infant care and toddler care routines such as diapering, feeding, and sleep schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with energy, patience, and enthusiasm.
