Position Summary:
- Responsible for planning Toolroom workload, providing assistance and supervision to employees reporting to the Tool and Die department.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Control Tool crib purchasing/location.
- Cost Awareness.
- Purchase/outsource tool room requirements. (Production holdups only).
- Assess tooling before tools are removed from press.
- Check on 2nd/3rd shifts job/W.O.’s completed or outstanding.
- Review all W.O.’s before filing for outstanding items for further completion.
- Troubleshooting ongoing tooling problems.
- Update outstanding jobs daily.
- Improve tools product cost.
- Work with production on improvements.
- Attend meetings/Tool review and design input.
- Continue in-die lube spray improvements.
- Responsible for effectively implementing Health & Safety Policies/Procedures.
- Ensure that Policies and Procedures contained in the Health & Safety manual of the plant are adhered to in the areas under their direction.
- Responsible for reviewing the Accident, Incident, and Investigation reports to ensure that the corrective actions for Prevention have been taken.
- For the development and implementation of Plant Standard Operating Procedures in the following areas: Health and Safety and Production.
- Directly accountable for the safety performance in their department.
- Responsible for Health & Safety training their employees in their department.
- To establish/maintain a Housekeeping Program for continuous improvement.
- To establish/maintain Weekly Health & Safety Workplace Inspections and take Corrective Actions.
- To participate in Production Meetings with Health & Safety as part of the Agenda.
- Ensure all employees are wearing their Personal Protective Equipment.
- Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee Meetings when requested.
- To coordinate the flow and proper handling of material and products through the plant.
- To establish/monitor production schedules and communicate any scheduling issues.
- Will comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the equipment is appropriately maintained and the operators are trained in the safe operation of that equipment.
Qualifications:
- Certified Tool & Die Maker
- At least 3 years: Press Brake/Shear/Punch Press
- Previous Leadership experience
- Welding/Torch Cutting/Die Making Skills.
- Press Operating experience
- Leadership Training
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $67,032.87-$119,980.13 per year
