CL Re is seeking to recruit an energetic and talented individual in the role of Trainee Pricing Actuary. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of reinsurance transactions and will be involved in the origination, pricing and implementation of new reinsurance structures in global markets. They will work alongside and learn from skilled and experienced actuaries in this space. While the role has an international market focus, we expect that most of the work will be carried out in Dublin with minimal, if any, business travel requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Supporting the data analysis and underwriting of new business transactions to ensure all risks are adequately understood.
- Pricing new transactions in line with underwriting guidelines and Canadian and Solvency II reserving and capital requirements.
- Drafting accurate, clear and concise documentation and effectively communicating key insights and results to peers.
- Preparing transaction approvals and presentations for senior executives
- Liaising with the Finance team, the Operations team and the various actuarial teams to implement new transactions into the production framework.
- Market and client research to support the origination of new business.
- Helping to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
The successful candidate ideally would be a part-qualified Actuary and should possess:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a life insurance or life reinsurance environment
- Experience in Pricing or Product development considered an advantage
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Actuarial modelling skills including Prophet, SQL, R, VBA experience considered an advantage
- An ability to plan work and manage time effectively
- Assertive, self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously where needed
