Trainee Arborist

Ever thought about getting into a trade but not thrilled about the conventional paths of plumbing, building or electrical work? We are currently seeking a Trainee Arborist who is ready to kickstart a fulfilling career in arboriculture!

About the role

As a trainee Arborist, you will learn and develop the skills needed to become a safe and successful Arborist and your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the team with maintenance of trees and shrubs
• Learn how to climb trees using ropes and harnesses
• Operate equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders
• Gain knowledge in tree identification, disease diagnosis and pest control
• Learn health and safety practices ensuring you work safely on site
• Attend training sessions when required to develop your knowledge

Who we are looking for

Previous experience in the field is not required. If you are a hard worker, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in then you would be a perfect candidate. Other success factors include:

• Be willing to learn and commit to training
• A current full drivers' licence with the ability to drive a manual, class 2 would be very advantageous!
• Be a team player and be able to follow instructions - helping out your team mates needs to be second nature
• A desire to adhere to the company's health and safety procedures
• Tones of motivation with a strong desire to get this job done
• Physically fit – able to climb trees and left heavy objects
