About the Role
The purpose of the role is to safely and efficiently collect blood and other specimens as requested by an authorized medical referrer. Perform duties related to Specimen Reception and data entry and to perform other technical and operational duties normally expected of a Technician / Phlebotomist, such as those related to efficient and effective operations of the Pathology service.
About you
- Provisional or full MSCNZ registration as a QPT(Qualified Phlebotomist Technician) or QMLT (Medical Laboratory Technician).
- Candidates currently enrolled and studying towards a PT or MLT qualification are also encouraged to apply.
- A basic understanding of health/illness and prevention of infection.
- Proven ability to rapidly learn new knowledge and skills.
Prior qualifications as a Phlebotomist Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician and/or previous experience within a Healthcare setting is desireable.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
