Training, Learning & Development Co-Ordinator

General scope of the role:

The Training, Learning & Development (TLD) Co-Ordinator will be responsible for preparing, facilitating and documenting learning, training and development initiatives which support the training and development strategy of O’Carroll Engineering (OCE).

The TLD Co-Ordinator will be responsible for the consistent development, coordination, and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and productivity. This role will work closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure that training needs are identified, met, and continually improved in line with OCE objectives.

In addition, you will be required to assist the HR department with onboarding and ensuring that HR queries are managed and resolved confidentially and effectively. This role will involve a level of general HR co-ordination tasks. The ideal candidate will enhance OCE’s HR Department in delivering a highly effective support network.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Coordination:

  • Organise and schedule internal and external training programs, workshops, seminars, and e-learning courses to align with company goals, employee needs, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure statutory training requirements are met.
  • Coordinate logistics for training events, including venue selection, materials preparation, and participant communication.
  • Proactively engage with external vendors to explore new innovative development and learning offerings as well as sourcing programme funding through the likes of Skillnet and Springboard.
  • Track and manage employee training attendance and participation.

Induction Training

  • Build, facilitate and implement onboarding programs to ensure the induction and integration of new employees.
  • Engage with trainers, supervisors and safety advisors on induction and training expectations for new employees.

Learning & Development Support:

  • Complete regular and routine skills gap analyses.
  • Work with department heads to identify training needs based on performance gaps and organisational changes.
  • Maintain and update training materials and resources to ensure content is current, relevant, and engaging.

Training Evaluation:

  • Collect feedback from participants to evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions and programs.
  • Conduct post-training assessments to measure learning outcomes and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare reports on training effectiveness, participation rates, and areas for development.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, certificates, and employee progress.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR Department.

SOLAS Apprenticeship

  • Act as a point of contact for SOLAS in relation to apprenticeship programmes.
  • Coordinate with workshop supervisors on delivery, completion and reporting of apprenticeship training.

Third Level Institutes

  • Engage with third level institutes on development of work placements to support OCE requirements and learner needs.
  • Development of graduate work placements to support OCE requirements and engagement with third level institutes on sourcing suitable students.

Secondary School Work Placements

  • Engage with secondary school students and supervisors on implementation of work placements to support learner needs and ensuring the health & safety of students.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate training opportunities and schedules to employees.
  • Act as the point of contact for employees regarding training inquiries and support.
  • Collaborate with HR, leadership teams, and external training providers to deliver effective learning initiatives.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies regarding employee training and development.
  • Prepare and present reports to management regarding training needs, trends, and outcomes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in learning and development.
  • Suggest improvements to training programs and recommend new technologies or methods for delivering training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field. Certification in training, learning, or development is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in training coordination or learning & development, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Skills:

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and other training tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Desired Qualities:

  • Enthusiastic about learning and development.
  • Adaptable and flexible in managing various tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €32,000.00-€38,000.00 per year
