We are seeking experienced and safety conscious Tree Surgeons to join our team.

This role will involve the use of machinery and equipment and will include physical exertion (manual handling etc.) on a daily basis.

This job description outlines some of the duties and responsibilities that are associated with your role, but it is by no means an exhaustive list and may be amended as the management of the company directs.

Duties:

  • Perform climbing and aerial tree surgery.
  • Operate chainsaws, chippers and other arborist equipment safely.
  • Tree Maintenance.
  • Pruning, fertilising and planting trees.
  • Tree and shrub planting.
  • Conduct tree inspections, hazard assessments and repair damaged trees.
  • Work as part of an onsite team to ensure the quality of the work is delivered to an excellent standard and that the work completed is carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Managing the safety of colleagues on site.
  • Ensuring the care and maintenance of plant and machinery while on site.
  • Attend regular team meetings.
  • Ad hoc duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to Company policies and procedures in relation to all aspects of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality.
  • Adhering to clients site rules and regulations in general and particularly in relation to Health and Safety.
  • Organise and plan each day with team members in relation to resources.
  • Using innovative skill to ensure a creative way of working.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and customers on site.
  • Ensure all work completed is to a high standard as expected by SAP Landscapes.
  • Collaborate effectively with ground crew and site managers.

Requirements:

  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate – Essential.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • NPTC Level 2 Ground-based chainsaw operator.
  • NPTC Level 2 Tree climbing and Rescue.
  • NPTC Level 3 Aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques.
  • NPTC Level 2 Safe use of manually fed woodchipper.
  • B+E Licence/ Tractor experience is an advantage.
  • Previous experience / knowledge in a similar industry desirable.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

Desirable:-

  • MEWP ticket
  • First Aid Training (Forestry First Aid Preferred)
  • Knowledge of tree species and disease identification
