Job Overview
TEK Solutions is currently looking for a reliable and experienced Class 1 Truck Driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment and oilfield tools efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively.
Duties
- Safely transport a variety of equipment, oilfield tools and other commodities across Western Canada
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
- Secure cargo properly using chains, straps and binders to prevent shifting or damage during transport
- Ensure compliance will all traffic laws, regulations and safety standards while driving and loading/unloading cargo
- Maintain accurate records of electronic logs, deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Comply with DOT and all federal regulations
- Flexibility to accommodate overnight stops, including sleeping in a truck when required
- Diagnose basic issues with truck and perform general maintenance
- High regard for safety and NSC Compliance
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with minimum of 5 years driving experience and no more than 2 demerit points
- Experience hauling low bed, highboy, slide axle, winch and or super-b trailers
- Geographic knowledge of Western Canada
- Experience working off road, temporary and uneven road conditions, with the ability to put on tire chains
- Winch truck experience considered an asset
- Equipment moving experience included but not limited to; excavators, dozers, manlifts, forklifts, office trailers and sea cans is an asset
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required an able to accommodate overnight stops including sleeping a truck when required
- Must keep truck and equipment clean
- Strong communication skills for interaction with team members and clients.
