Position Overview

We are hiring a Tube Mill Uncoiler to support our manufacturing line by loading and feeding steel coils into the tube mill at our Pickering facility. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring consistent material flow and minimizing downtime. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced with coil handling or heavy machinery.

Essential Duties

• Operate uncoiler equipment and safely load steel coils into the mill
• Align and tension material properly to maintain continuous production
• Use overhead cranes or lifting devices to move coils
• Monitor coil feed for jams or misalignment and take corrective action
• Assist with coil changes and prepare equipment for next runs
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of uncoiling machinery
• Follow safety policies including PPE, lockout/tagout, and coil handling procedures
• Collaborate with mill operators and supervisors for seamless transitions
• Other duties as assigned

Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3+ years of experience in a coil-handling or metal processing environment
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials
• Familiarity with uncoiler systems or similar equipment
• Strong communication skills and team orientation

Nice to Haves

• Overhead crane or forklift certification
• Previous experience in steel or tubing manufacturing

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50+ lbs
• Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with moving machinery

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
