Job Title: Tyre Depot Manager

Job Summary
The Tyre Depot Manager is responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day operations of the tyre depot. This includes managing staff, driving sales and profitability, ensuring high levels of customer service, maintaining health and safety standards, and overseeing stock, equipment, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily depot operations to ensure efficient workflow and service delivery
- Ensure all tyre fitting, repairs, and related services are carried out safely and to company standards
- Maintain depot cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage equipment maintenance and ensure tools are fit for purpose
People Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate depot staff
- Prepare staff rotas and manage attendance, holidays, and performance
- Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary or capability issues
- Promote a positive, safe, and customer-focused working environment
Sales & Customer Service
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints effectively
- Drive sales performance, upselling tyres and related products where appropriate
- Build and maintain relationships with retail, trade, and fleet customers
- Ensure pricing, promotions, and company offers are correctly implemented
Stock & Financial Control
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory accuracy
- Minimise stock losses, waste, and tyre disposals in line with regulations
- Monitor depot costs, margins, and profitability
- Handle cash, invoicing, and administrative tasks in line with company procedures
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and company policies
- Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of tyres and materials
- Maintain required records, audits, and inspections
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the automotive or tyre industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Good commercial awareness and basic financial understanding
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
Desirable:
- Technical knowledge of tyres, wheel alignment, and related services
- Experience managing trade or fleet accounts
- Health and safety or IOSH certification
