The purpose of this role is to underwrite new business and renewals in accordance with underwriting guidelines and service standards, while managing underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for a range of products. Additionally, the role involves maintaining relationships with intermediaries and business partners to drive underwriting service delivery, product development, and innovation.
The opportunity:
- Contribute to the achievement of operational objectives for the underwriting function and/or business unit.
- Underwrite new and existing policies in accordance with organisational policy and underwriting standards.
- Provide a timely and professional level of service to customers and intermediaries.
- Evaluate risk for new business in accordance with standards, to ensure profitable growth.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries and internal stakeholders.
- Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisational guidelines and legislative requirements.
- Build strong knowledge of current legislation, best practices, underwriting acceptance levels, systems and organisational guidelines.
- Meet new business targets.
- Responsible for managing Underwriting relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery, product development and innovation.
