Job Summary
The Upholstery Specialist is responsible for repairing, restoring, and manufacturing upholstered furniture and components using fabric, leather, foam, and other materials. This role involves removing existing coverings, repairing frames and springs, cutting and sewing new materials, and installing them to meet design specifications and quality standards.

Starting Wage: $22.50 per hour
Wage Review: Compensation will be reviewed after the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period, with the opportunity for a wage increase based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

Typical duties include:

• Remove old fabric, padding, springs, and webbing from furniture
• Repair or reinforce wooden frames and structural components
• Measure, cut, and prepare upholstery materials such as fabric or leather
• Sew seams and assemble upholstery components
• Install padding, foam, springs, and coverings on furniture frames
• Secure materials using staple guns, nails, adhesives, and other upholstery tools
• Work with designers to select appropriate materials, styles, and colours
• Ensure finished pieces meet quality standards and project specifications
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe and organized workspace
• Assemble furniture components into finished products

Pay: From $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
