Utility Locator Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Utility Line Locator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utilities to ensure the safety of construction projects and prevent damage to essential services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility locating, construction, or related fields, along with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough utility locates using specialized equipment and techniques.
• Mark the location of underground utilities on construction sites according to established guidelines.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of utility locations and site conditions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project requirements and updates.
• Perform field service tasks as needed, including operating forklifts and backhoes.
• Assist in land surveying activities when required.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.

Skills

• Proficient in utility locating techniques and equipment operation.
• Experience in construction site environments, demonstrating knowledge of safety protocols.
• Familiarity with cabling systems and their installation processes.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as backhoes safely and efficiently.
• Strong skills in blueprint reading for accurate project execution.
• Previous experience as a service technician is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
