Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Ventilation Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of ventilation systems in line with current standards (TR19, etc.) and client specifications.

This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and deep cleans of ventilation systems, including ductwork, AHUs, and extract systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with TR19 standards and HFM internal SOPs.
  • Document all works completed with clear, accurate reports and before/after images.
  • Work with clients to access site areas, follow permit-to-work systems, and ensure minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Identify and report system faults, damages, or improvement opportunities.
  • Use specialist tools, cleaning chemicals, and PPE correctly and safely.
  • Provide on-site advice to clients where necessary and escalate complex issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Participate in scheduled night or weekend works when required.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with environmental guidelines.

Essential Requirements

  • Full, clean driving licence (company van provided).
  • Proven experience working in ventilation system cleaning or maintenance (min. 2 years preferred).
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
  • Knowledge of TR19 and industry cleaning standards.
  • Excellent time management, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Desirable

  • BESA-accredited Vent Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Confined Space and Working at Height certification.
  • Experience working in healthcare, food production, or pharmaceutical environments.
