The scope of the role: 3300 employees in 12 countries: Japan, Korea, China, India, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand & Singapore. It is a leadership role with 7 direct and 24 indirect team members. Collaboration HR Operations HUB in Kuala Lumpur, with approx. 25 employees. The location is flexible in SEA.

Vice President of Human Resources: A Strategic Leadership Role

Drive Human Resources Strategy and Impact at a High Level

GEA Group, a global leader in engineering and technology solutions, is on the search for a dynamic and experienced Head of Human Resources for APAC region. In this strategic role, you will be at the heart of our company's growth, driving HR strategies that align with our corporate objectives and cultural values.

We are seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to join our executive team and provide hands on and strategic HR direction to our APAC business. This role is designed for a leader with a comprehensive background in HR, who can integrate functional expertise with a strategic business perspective. Success in this role will be measured by how you shape our workforce, culture and the overall success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the APAC HR Business Partner function, setting standards and ensuring alignment with GEA Group’s global objectives.

  • Deliver expert strategic HR guidance and support to executive leadership on key people-related challenges and drive overall business goals.

  • Navigate and manage the complexities of a matrixed organizational structure, ensuring effective collaboration across various HR, corporate functions and business units.

  • Lead a talented team of HR professionals through day-to-day matters and steer organizational change initiatives including the implementation of global HR initiatives, linking them to business objectives.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive talent programs and direct the Talent Acquisition function to develop a robust talent pipeline.

  • Adapt global HR standards to regional and local business needs and refine HR processes while maintaining alignment with the ‘One HR’ approach.

  • Guide HR projects, focusing on the integration of manager and employee feedback and needs.

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Law, Human Resources or equivalent experience.

  • At least 10 years of senior HR experience, with a solid understanding of HR processes.

  • Proven track record in leading HR organizations and managing international HR initiatives.

  • Knowledge of employment law, talent management and organizational development.

  • Proficiency in English along with an international HR background are highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability in change management and leading diverse teams.

  • Experience within an industrial manufacturing environment/industry

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a Global Framework as part of the global extended leadership team

  • Strong communication skills, with a capacity to articulate a vision for HR.

  • Ability to travel frequently in APAC (30%) and occasional travel to Europe once or twice a year.
