ABOUT THE ROLE

GM Akash Ganesan is India's 66th Chess Grandmaster, National Champion, and a growing Tamil chess content creator. We're building a Tamil-first chess brand on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube — and we're looking for a video editor who can turn raw footage into content that actually stops people from scrolling.

You'll be working closely with our manager on a daily basis, editing Reels, YouTube videos, and short-form content. This is a ground-floor role in a fast-growing creator team — you'll have direct impact on how the brand looks and feels.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Edit Instagram Reels (30–90 seconds) from raw talking-head footage and B-roll

Cut and export YouTube videos (8–20 minutes) with intro, chapters, and end screens

Add subtitles, text overlays, and captions in Tamil and English

Sync background music and sound effects to match the content tone

Create simple motion graphics for chess board animations and highlights

Maintain a consistent visual style across all content

Organise raw footage, assets, and exports in Google Drive

Turnaround Reels within 24 hours and YouTube videos within 48 hours

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Proficient in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut — at least one tool you know well

Strong feel for pacing, hooks, and what makes short-form content engaging

Tamil-speaking — you'll be editing Tamil and Tanglish content daily

Eye for clean typography and consistent branding

Able to take a brief from the content manager and deliver without hand-holding

Bonus: familiarity with chess or interest in learning the basics

Bonus: experience with Canva, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve
