We explore the evolution and significance of these visuals, objects, and the memories they carry through a practice rooted in craft that merges digital and physical mediums.

Free Roam is built on a deep engagement with video game worlds and their material culture, from menus, HUDs, environments, textures, objects, and the emotional residue they leave behind. This is not a surface-level reference point, but foundational to how we think, design, and create.

The Role
I’m looking for a creative freelance Video Editor to join the growing team, with a strong focus on YouTube and Instagram. We will closely work together across a range of projects from post-production on Free Roam videos to supporting in film/motion work for various independent and client projects. While I am based in NYC, this role is open to video editors everywhere! Hours per week can be discussed.

What You’ll Do

• Edit video content for YouTube, Instagram, and web
• Create visually compelling edits using motion graphics, text overlays, and presentation-style elements
• Collaborate and implement creative choices during editing (structure, music, pacing, and visual/audio support)
• Design and integrate custom graphics, slides, and branded visual assets into videos
• Stay current with short-form trends, YouTube styles, and social formats
• Maintain and evolve the Free Roam brand voice, tone, and visual identity

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
• Organized file management and experience with cloud-based workflows (e.g. Dropbox)
• Confident use of music and sound design
• Strong understanding of editing workflows, pacing, and storytelling
• Experience with motion graphics and integrating text/graphic systems into video
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for and familiarity with design, media, and culture (especially video games!)
