Virginia Personal Injury Case Manager (Paralegal) Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Virginia Case Manager (Paralegal) to assist with the handling of the firm’s pre-litigation personal injury cases.
This position is an in-office work opportunity for a qualified candidate. (Office Location: near Willow Lawn in Richmond, Virginia).
Responsibilities:
- Input cases into the firm’s case management system
- Verify the accuracy of the intake information and keep track of client medical treatment
- Regularly communicate with clients, answer client questions, and explain the process of a case
- Return client calls and emails promptly (same day or by the next day during the work week)
- Set up claims with the insurance companies and send letters of representation
- Request/save client photographs, witness information, and any other client documentation
- Assist clients with compiling lost income documentation
- Request police reports and other forms of crash scene investigation
- Request medical records and medical billing, communicate with treating medical providers
- Process clients’ claims for no fault benefits (i.e. med pay)
- Request policy limits information
- Save and file all claims correspondence (faxes, email attachments, regular mail)
- Communicate with insurance adjusters and provide status updates
- Conduct medical billing balance confirmations to prepare cases for settlement
- Document any lien information (health insurance, workers’ compensation, etc.)
- Compile demand packages for attorney review
- Calendar deadlines
- Draft case specific correspondence for attorney review
- Document all work completed on client cases using the firm’s case management software
- Assist with other tasks as assigned and conduct regular follow-ups on outstanding matters
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Virginia personal injury paralegal experience
- Exceptional customer service
- Active listening/empathy
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Proficiency with computers and strong typing skills
- Ability to ask prying questions and diffuse tense situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
