We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Virtual Medical Scribe and Documentation Auditor to join our healthcare team. This unique role involves virtually assisting healthcare providers during patient encounters, auditing clinical notes for accuracy and compliance, and serving as a training resource to ensure high-quality documentation practices across all providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Real-Time Virtual Documentation: Virtually accompany healthcare providers during patient visits to accurately document medical histories, physical examinations, assessments, and treatment plans into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Documentation Auditing: Conduct regular audits of clinical notes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established standards and regulations. Provide feedback to providers to enhance documentation quality.
- Training and Support: Act as a training resource for providers, offering guidance on effective documentation practices and assisting in the onboarding of new staff regarding EHR usage and documentation standards.
- Administrative Assistance: Assist with administrative tasks such as managing patient records, processing referrals, and coordinating follow-up appointments to streamline clinical workflows.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. Certification as a Medical Scribe Specialist is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a medical scribe, preferably in a virtual setting. Prior experience in clinical documentation auditing is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and telehealth platforms. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide constructive feedback and effectively train healthcare providers.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and auditing tasks.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a remote environment and adapting to various providers’ documentation styles and preferences.
