Visiting Physicist - Af

The visiting physicist will serve as a Lead Investigator on the "DynaBoost: Selective Enhancement and Interpretation of X-ray Scattering Signals from Protein Crystals under Terahertz Excitation" LDRD project, contributing their expertise in molecular simulation, modeling, and X-ray crystallography. Visiting physicist will be responsible for hiring and mentoring a Research Associate (RA), guiding the development of pipelines for simulation and data analysis, and ensuring the timely characterization and preparation of samples for both X-ray diffraction (XRD) and terahertz (THz) spectroscopic experiments. Visiting physicist will also coordinate beamtime proposals for LCLS and SSRL, ensuring that sufficient experimental time is secured to meet project milestones.

Additionally, visiting physicist's work on LDRD will support the broader goals of the biology and chemistry programs at LCLS (Bio SRD and Chem SRD), leveraging their expertise in X-ray crystallography and spectroscopy. Through this, the results of the LDRD will also contribute to the progress of end-station development such as MFX, XCS, XPP, and TXI, as appropriate.
