Visual Arts for Social Change Remote Internship

Voice Up Publishing Incorporated empowers college students to become catalysts for meaningful change through peer-driven engagement. By harnessing the unique perspectives, energy, and digital fluency of today's students, Voice Up creates content and initiatives that resonate with young changemakers in their own authentic voice. Key Responsibilities - Create visual art pieces and/or drawings that address contemporary social issues - Develop series of works that tell stories of community and change - Document your creative process and artistic evolution - Collaborate with fellow artists on collective impact projects - Participate in virtual discussions about art's role in social movements - Contribute to online exhibitions and digital galleries - Engage with communities to understand social issues firsthand

Artistic Focus Areas - Social commentary through painting and mixed media - Sculptural installations addressing community concerns - Public art concepts for social awareness - Interactive art pieces that engage viewers in social dialogue - Environmental art highlighting sustainability - Portrait series showcasing underrepresented voices - Mixed media works exploring social justice themes

Flexible Structure - 100% remote position with completely flexible scheduling - Self-paced project work that fits around your academic commitments - Option to receive academic credit (coordinate with your institution) - Volunteer opportunity for those not seeking academic credit - Professional letter of recommendation upon successful completion

Artistic Mediums - Drawings (multiple formats including book art and storytelling) - Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media) - Sculpture (traditional and contemporary materials) - Installation art (physical and digital) - Mixed media and assemblage - Digital art and new media - Sustainable and eco-friendly art materials - Community-engaged art practices

Ideal Candidates Will Have - Current enrollment in a college/university fine arts program - Strong portfolio demonstrating technical skill and creative vision - Passion for using art to address social issues - Interest in community engagement through art - Understanding of contemporary social movements - Ability to work independently while contributing to group projects - Desire to develop both artistic skills and social impact
