About Us

Michigan Academy of Dance + Arts (MADA) is one of Southeast Michigan's premier performing arts schools, proudly building on a 50-year legacy of excellence in dance education. As we expand our music and performing arts programs, we are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Voice Instructor who is passionate about helping students develop healthy vocal technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.

Position Summary

We are looking for a voice instructor to provide engaging, individualized private lessons for children and teens of varying experience levels. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students of all ages, communicates well with families, and is committed to helping each student reach their unique goals.

• Classical Voice
• Contemporary/Pop
• Audition Preparation
• Performance Skills
• Vocal Technique
• Beginning through Advanced instruction

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly private voice lessons
• Develop individualized lesson plans based on each student's goals and abilities
• Teach proper vocal technique, breath support, diction, musicianship, and performance skills
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, when appropriate
• Maintain professional communication with students and parents
• Track attendance and lesson progress
• Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance, Music Education, Musical Theatre, or a related field, or professional experience
• Previous teaching experience
• Strong vocal pedagogy and healthy vocal technique
• Experience teaching children and teenagers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, organized, and professional
• Passion for inspiring young musicians

Schedule

Part-time

Flexible evening hours.

Current teaching days include Monday through Friday, with opportunities to expand based on enrollment.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
