Job Summary

The Lethbridge Food Bank is an important part of a vibrant community to ensure a food security resource for families in need. Since 1982, the Lethbridge Food Bank has been proudly operating in the community of Lethbridge and serving the surrounding area with a “food share” program. Lethbridge is home to over 113,000 people and growing, making the Lethbridge Food Bank an important part of the community ensuring food security for families in need.

The Lethbridge Food Bank is a not-for-profit organization established in 1982 to serve the needs of the community in Lethbridge and the surrounding areas. The LFB team works in cohesion to not only provide the fundamental need of food security but to help our clients grow and self-sustain.

The Lethbridge Food Bank is seeking an energetic and community-focused Volunteer & Events Coordinator to lead our volunteer program and oversee the planning and execution of events.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, building community connections, and bringing events to life that support a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers
  • Coordinate scheduling and ensure strong daily coverage
  • Deliver volunteer orientation and maintain engagement
  • Act as the primary point of contact for volunteers

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead planning and delivery of fundraising and community events
  • Coordinate logistics, volunteers, and event resources
  • Work with the Executive Director and team on event strategy and execution
  • Represent the organization at community events

Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and organizations
  • Promote volunteer opportunities and events
  • Support community awareness initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, or community engagement
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Familiarity of social media and marketing
  • Comfortable with occasional evenings and weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $19.00- $21.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience
