Volunteer Befriender

Do you have an hour or two per week available to visit a lonely and isolated person aged 50+? Could you provide friendly chat and companionship for someone who might be amongst your community's most vulnerable?

Volunteer Befrienders are needed to provide conversation and company for isolated older people in Blaenau Gwent. We are looking for reliable, empathetic individuals who are good at listening to help lonely and isolated people get more out of life.

It might be providing a friendly or helping them access activities in their community, we aim to ensure everyone is socially included in their local community.

By volunteering as a Befriender you will be helping others while getting enjoyment out of it yourself.

All volunteers will have to undergo a DBS check and supply 2 character references.

Please note this is an unpaid voluntary role.
