St. John Ambulance Ontario is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified and ambitious individual to take the role of Volunteer Coordinator for our St. John Ambulance operations in the Toronto Region. Based out of Toronto, Ontario, and reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will provide support to St. John Ambulance Community Services within Toronto Region through volunteer engagement, recognition and stewardship.
Essential Duties:
- Assess the need for volunteers to enhance the program and service delivery across the region.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit the right volunteers to the various programs.
- On-board volunteers to increase their understanding of SJA, programs, clients and policies and procedures.
- Assist with regional special events, public relations and the marketing of community service units and volunteer opportunities
- Be the first point of contact for SJA clients and volunteers
- Build and maintain a positive, trusting relationship with volunteers, community partners and clients.
- Establish and maintain donor recognition through thank you letters and other methods
- Provide support to community services programs in the areas of volunteer recruitment, screening, training and recognition
- Plan and implement, formal and informal volunteer recognition activities.
- Provide administrative support to community service programs where required; Therapy Dogs, Medical First Responders, and Youth Members
- Maintain event management and volunteer records in CRM
- Coordinate support related to client event requests and donation follow up after events
- Create reports to support recruitment, donation tracking, and recognition
- Update volunteer documents, templates and training materials.
- Support fundraising and community relations initiatives
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns designed to increase revenues for our volunteer programs
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience:
- Post-secondary education in related discipline (Volunteer Management, Office Administration, Marketing, Public Relations)
- Demonstrated 3-4 years experience in volunteer management and/or office administration
- Computer skills in various software applications including social media
- Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends at special events or meetings.
- Demonstrated marketing and / or public relations experience
- Interpersonal and communication skills; both oral and written
- Time management skills with the ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $52,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
