About The Position
Position Location: Port Pirie or Port Augusta
Position Status: Part Time, 2 days per week - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Internal Staff Note: If applicable, this could be on top of your current role in addition. Please discuss with your Line Manager to ascertain suitability.

The UCSA Driving Academy is an initiative of Uniting Country SA (UCSA), designed to provide professional, culturally safe, and inclusive driver education services across regional South Australia. The program aims to support individuals in gaining the skills and confidence required to become safe, competent drivers, while promoting road safety and compliance with South Australian regulations.
As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will coordinate and support the volunteer program by assisting with recruitment, onboarding checks, rostering and ongoing volunteer support. You’ll use established processes and templates to help increase learner access to supervised driving hours in a safe, inclusive and well‑governed way.

Skills and Experiences:
You will:
- Coordinate the volunteer journey from first contact through to onboarding, rostering and ongoing support
- Build and maintain a reliable volunteer pool, focusing on recruitment, retention and a positive volunteer experience
- Support volunteer information sessions, check‑ins and connections to training and resources
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer screening, onboarding, training and currency requirements
- Work closely with the Driving Academy team to ensure the program is delivered safely, consistently and in line with UCSA expectations
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Ability to build respectful relationships with volunteers, learners and local stakeholders
- Strong administration and record‑keeping skills, with confidence using databases and systems
- Experience supporting screening, onboarding and rostering processes
- Current SA drivers’ licence
