About the Role

We are offering a permanent part-time position for a Social Worker to undertake the role of Vulnerable Unborn Co-ordinator (Family Violence Intervention Programme). Based in either Tauranga or Whakatāne, this role extends across the Bay of Plenty region. You will contribute to a supportive and positive environment, facilitating Vulnerable Unborn Forum meetings to assist vulnerable hāpū māmā and their unborn pēpē throughout the region.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will be collaboratively working with a multidisciplinary team of Tauranga and Whakatane Vulnerable (VU) forum members, Oranga Tamariki, NZ Police and health professionals in primary, community and secondary care.

About You

  • Appropriately skilled with a minimum of 4 years recent post-registration experience in social work
  • Understands the dynamics of Intimate Partner Abuse (IPV), Vulnerable Unborns, and Child Protection
  • Has a sound understanding of project and people management
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
