Operated by O'Hara's of Foxford, we are passionate about delivering fresh, locally sourced food, great coffee, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking for enthusiastic and friendly Wait Staff to join our team and help create an exceptional dining experience for our customers.

Job Summary: As part of the wait staff at Baker 51 Café, you will be the face of our café, providing top-notch service to our customers. From greeting guests to taking orders and serving delicious food and drinks, you’ll ensure that every customer has a memorable experience. If you’re personable, proactive, and thrive in a lively café environment, this could be the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat customers with a warm and friendly attitude.
• Take orders accurately and efficiently, offering menu suggestions and answering any customer questions.
• Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring that all orders meet the café’s quality standards.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the dining experience, ensuring customers feel welcomed and looked after.
• Handle payments and operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, ensuring tables are set and cleared quickly.
• Assist with any customer inquiries or special requests, ensuring a positive experience.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and baristas to ensure smooth service, especially during busy periods.
• Uphold all health, safety, and hygiene standards in the café environment.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
• Customer Service Skills: A friendly, approachable demeanour and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to take orders accurately and ensure that all customer needs are met.
• Positive Attitude: A can-do approach and willingness to pitch in as needed to ensure smooth café operations.
• Time Management: Able to handle busy periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Barista skills or a willingness to learn.

Working Hours: Full-time and part-time positions are available. Flexibility is required, including weekends.
