  • Christchurch – Christchurch Hospital – General Surgery Ward B3
  • 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) working Mon/Fri/Sat and Sunday from 3.30pm to midnight
  • Permanent part time

About the role

The ward clerk is the ‘communication hub’ of the unit and undertakes the following as well as jobs as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Manager or Nurse in charge.

  • Meet and greet patients and whānau and show them around the ward and to the bedside
  • Confidentiality – check with patients and whānau on how they would like their name displayed or not
  • Management of phone calls into ward/unit
  • Contact person for the ward/ unit and communicate between departments and the MDT
  • Administration work such as supply ordering, equipment ordering, maintenance requisitions, cleaning orders and entering data such as the ward roster
