Warehouse & Stock Controller – Footwear

About the Role

We are a UK-based footwear resale business that sources footwear stock from India for sale in the UK.

We are looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented Warehouse & Stock Controller to manage the day-to-day handling of our footwear stock at our warehouse in Ludhiana, near Noorwala Road.

The successful candidate will work closely with our UK-based Manager, providing daily updates and ensuring that all stock received, checked, organised and prepared for export is accurately recorded and ready for collection.

This is an important role within the business, and we are looking for someone who is trustworthy, takes responsibility for their work and has excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Be present at the warehouse to receive footwear stock when deliveries arrive.
• Check all incoming deliveries against the relevant order/inventory information.
• Verify that the correct articles, models and sizes have been received.
• Accurately count and record quantities received.
• Identify and report any missing, incorrect, damaged or defective items.
• Sort and organise footwear according to article number/model and size.
• Ensure stock is kept organised and easy to locate.
• Inspect items to ensure they are clean and suitable for resale before packing.
• Clean or prepare items where necessary before repacking.
• Repack footwear securely and appropriately for export.
• Prepare completed stock so that it is ready for collection by the exporter.
• Maintain an accurate in-house stock tracking system.
• Update Excel/Google Sheets with incoming, processed and outgoing stock.
• Keep clear records of quantities and article numbers.
• Communicate stock updates and any issues to the UK-based Manager on a daily basis.
• Coordinate with the exporter/collection team when stock is ready for collection.
• Ensure all stock is accounted for before it leaves the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient warehouse environment.
• Carry out any other reasonable warehouse and stock-control duties required by the business.

Communication & Reporting

The successful candidate will report directly to a UK-based Manager and will be expected to provide daily communication and updates.

You will need to be comfortable communicating via:

• Microsoft Teams
• Gmail
• Phone/WhatsApp
• Email
• Google Workspace

Accurate communication is extremely important, particularly when reporting quantities, stock discrepancies, damaged items or shipment status.

Essential Requirements

You MUST:

• Speak fluent English.
• Speak fluent Punjabi.
• Be computer literate.
• Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Be comfortable using Microsoft Word.
• Be comfortable using Gmail and Google.
• Be comfortable using Microsoft Teams.
• Have excellent attention to detail.
• Be organised and able to work independently.
• Be reliable and punctual.
• Be comfortable counting and checking large quantities of stock.
• Be trustworthy and responsible when handling valuable footwear inventory.
• Be able to communicate clearly with a UK-based Manager.
• Be willing to work in a warehouse environment and handle footwear stock.

Hindi is an advantage but is not essential.

Previous experience in warehouse operations, stock control, inventory management, logistics, footwear, retail or e-commerce would be an advantage, but is not essential for the right candidate.

Salary & Progression

The starting salary will be ₹15,000 per month during an initial 3-month trial/probation period.

Following the 3-month period, salary will be reviewed based on:

• Performance
• Reliability
• Accuracy
• Responsibility
• Ability to manage stock independently
• Communication with the UK-based Manager

There is potential for a salary increase following the successful completion of the trial period.
