DSV Air & Sea is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Warehouse Operator, Freight Forwarding in Auckland.
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the efficient handling of freight within a busy logistics environment. Key duties include un-packing and loading containers, conducting Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) screening of freight, and ensuring all cargo is managed in compliance with industry regulations.
Your typical day at DSV:
- Container Management: Safely and efficiently un-pack and load containers, ensuring the accurate handling of cargo to meet operational deadlines. Accreditation is required and must be maintained.
- RACA Screening: Conduct RACA screening of freight, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Accreditation is required and must be maintained.
- Physical Demands: Engage in continuous lifting, bending, stacking, and other physically demanding tasks. The role requires prolonged periods of standing, and the operator must be physically fit to meet these demands.
- Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively. A valid forklift license is required.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Health & Safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Compliance with all regulatory bodies is mandatory.
About you:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is highly desirable. Experience in freight forwarding or a similar industry is a strong advantage.
- Practical experience in loading and unloading containers, including handling different types of cargo (e.g., fragile, oversized, or hazardous goods).
- Experience with regulated cargo screening processes, including familiarity with relevant technology and documentation.
- Familiarity with inventory control practices, including the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanning equipment.
