As a member of the Warehouse Sanitation team, you will support food safety, sanitation, and operational excellence within our warehouse facilities. This role is a key member of the Sanitation team and works collaboratively with sanitation, warehouse, and production staff to ensure all company, customer, and regulatory sanitation standards are consistently met. You will maintain a clean and sanitary warehouse environment by following the Master Sanitation Schedule, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and supporting HACCP and pest control programs.
DutiesResponsibilities:
- Maintain exceptional sanitation standards across all Grain Millers Canada warehouse premises.
- Complete all assigned tasks in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule, including equipment, structural, and facility cleaning.
- Perform deep cleaning of equipment and designated areas as required.
- Operate powered mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts (training provided as required).
- Clean and maintain common areas including washrooms, lunchrooms, locker rooms, and employee service areas as assigned.
- Properly store, maintain, and care for sanitation and pest control tools and equipment.
- Monitor for pest activity, report findings, and assist with pest control activities within licensing and training limits.
- Complete and maintain required documentation, including sanitation logs, pest control logs, and work orders using the Galileo system.
- Communicate required repairs or maintenance needs to Warehouse Management or Maintenance using approved processes.
- Follow all company safety, food safety, ethical, and environmental policies at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge or understanding of sanitation and pest control practices in a food processing environment is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in physically demanding conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Flexibility to work shift work as required.
- Ability to work in a grain processing environment with exposure to allergens such as grain dust.
- Ability to identify pest control concerns (rodent, avian, insect).
Hours of Work
This position will work Monday – Friday, 8hr/day.
