Under occasional supervision, performs the installation, maintenance, and repair of various potable water, sanitary, and storm sewer lines, appurtenances, and pumping and lift stations within the City of Clinton's service district. Operates various heavy equipment and tools as necessary to perform daily tasks. Reports to the Water and Sewer Division Manager. Experience preferred, but not required. Requirements: Requirements include, but are not limited to: (1) Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have proof of a High School Diploma or GED . (2) Should possess or be able to possess a minimum Class B Commercial Driver's License within a specified time. (3) Position requires, but is not limited to, extensive and frequent strenuous physical labor, walking, stooping, bending, and frequently lifting weights up to 50 lbs. (4) Backhoe operation experience and/or Class D Water Distribution Certification a plus. (5)Requires good customer service and oral/written communication skills. (6) Work is predominantly outside in a variety of climatic conditions year-round. (7) Successful pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening is required.
